Charles Bacon: survey of the Palace of Westminster with key, 21 February 1816 (2)
Notes
Charles Bacon (1784-1818) succeeded his former teacher, John Thomas Groves (c.1761-1811), as Clerk of the Works at Whitehall, Westminster and St James's in 1811. (Groves himself had succeeded Soane). As well as his official appointments, Bacon was Surveyor to the County of Middlesex and had his own private practice.
