Purpose
Design and working drawing for a pier table for the dining room, 1775, executed status unknown (2)
Notes
This segmental pier table does not survive at Newby, and the status of its execution if unknown. Harris has suggested that the existence of a working drawing for the table slab (Adam volume 49/40) is persuasive evidence that the design was executed, and most likely as a pair for the two central window piers in Adam’s dining room.
