Purpose
Preliminary design, finished drawing and record drawing for the walls and ceiling of the private dressing room, 1774, unexecuted (3)
Notes
These drawings are for a room which is shown in the plan of the principal (first) storey (Adam volume 49/10) at the rear of the house, which is inscribed on the plan as the Private Dressing Room. The laid out wall elevations (Adam volume 27/30) are inscribed as being for Lady FitzRoy, leading to some confusion over whether this was intended as her dressing room, or the circular room at the centre of the house. None of Adam's schemes for General FitzRoy were executed.
