Purpose

Finished drawing for a ceiling for the back drawing room for Joseph Rose, 1772, as executed (1)

Notes

This ceiling was executed in accordance with Adam's drawing, and survives in situ, albeit with some of the medallions replaced with plaster roses incorporating electrical light fittings.

The chimneypieces in this house are roughly contemporary with the ceilings, but were reclaimed from elsewhere and installed in 1934.
