Alternative designs for a ceiling for an unknown room (possibly the back drawing room), 1771, unexecuted (3)

Notes

The intended location for this ceiling design is not known, but it is possible that like Adam's frieze design for Harley (Adam volume 53/27) it was for the back drawing room. None of Adam's interior decorative designs for 152 Aldersgate Street were executed. See scheme notes.

It is interesting to note that very similar Adam ceiling designs were made for 6 Frederick's Place and for the drawing room at 8 Charlotte Street (later 10 Bloomsbury Street) for Mr Lyte in 1773, and survives in situ (Adam volume 12/133).
