Alternative designs for a mirror frame for the hall-cum-dining room, 1773, Adam volume 20/119 as executed (2)
Notes
Adam volume 20/119 was executed for the hall-cum-dining room, and the mirror survives at Scone Palace, Perthshire, albeit without the encircling embellishments, which Julius Bryant suggests were attached to the wall at Kenwood. A similar glass is shown for the dining room in The works in architecture of Robert and James Adam (1774, Volume I, Part II, plate viii). And Sefferin Nelson billed for a mirror of this sort in 1773, the same year that he produced a sideboard table, wine cistern and urns for the same room.
