This section on the line 'AB' (q.v. drawing [20]) shows that the Kitchen is a double-height room measuring 18 feet from floor to ceiling. It has a large chimneypiece and two full-height recessed arches. The flues of the chimney are directed into the central tower. To the left of the Kitchen is the Scullery, above which is another room, only 7 feet in height.
