Notes

Hertford Street was largely laid out in the late 1760s. Though it suffered severe bomb damage during the Second World War, some of the original buildings survive as offices and flats, including number 10, the home of General John Burgoyne, which was decorated by Robert Adam in the late 1760s and early 1770s. It is not known in which house on Hertford Street Mrs Stevenson resided.

See also: Mr Stevenson: designs for a castellated house of unknown location. It is not known if Mr Stevenson was connected with Mrs Stevenson.
