Notes

This composition is similar to that found in Adam vol.9/1 verso, which shows two courtyard schemes, one of which is a sketch for the palace or public building in Adam vol.10/1 and 20. This drawing relates most closely to that sort of scheme although it is smaller and has an enclosed court. The draughtsmanship is also typical of c. 1755. The plan for the symmetrical pavilion at the top can be compared with those in Adam vol.9/5 and 29.
