The number 43 inscribed on this drawing, and also its lack of a sarcophagus, suggest that this drawing has been placed here out of sequence in Adam volume 56. There is a comparable but unfinished capriccio in Adam vol.57/150.A copy of this drawing by C J Richardson (1806-1871) in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London (P&D 93.G.8/52).
