Purpose
[1] Finished drawing for a ceiling for the eating parlour, 1774, unexecuted
Aspect
Plan of a rectangular ceiling, with a canted bow on one of the short sides, divided by a band of scrolled hearts, and with a chimneybreast on one of the long sides, and the central flat is ornamented with a medallion, enclosed within a fan ornamented with anthemia, and a circular frame of beading, with an apron of festoons of beading, and wreaths enclosing calyx, which support peltoid shields, and the whole is enclosed within an oval frame of reed and ribbon, attended by alternating enclosed medallions, and rectangular tablets containing arabesques, with aprons of ox skulls flanked by swags
