Design for the walls of the hall, c1772, executed with alterations (1)

Notes

The executed scheme within the hall makes use of Adam's design for the chimneypiece, doorcases and frieze as shown in Adam volume 50/59, but the wall ornamentation and overdoors were excluded, presumably in the interest of economy.

Within the drawings collection of the Yale Center for British Art at New Haven there is a complete copy of Adam volume 50/59.
