The central subject of this drawing is almost certainly derived from a more distant view of the Temple of Vesta (Sibyl) at Tivoli than that shown in Adam vol.57/91. This view may be compared with the drawings by Charles-Louis Clérisseau and Jean-Baptiste Lallemand in the Clerk Collection, Scotland (Clerk 119, 122 and 192).
