Notes
The title of 'Bank in Union Street', rather than 'Bank of England Branch', suggests that this drawing was made before the purchase of the building by the Bank of England. The label 'Intended Safe Room' is written in a hand corresponding with the Bateman plans of July 1826 (drawing 1). The proposed alterations to the strong room are intended to make entry possible only from the room above (i.e. the waiting room).
