Purpose
Finished drawings for the chimneypiece in the great drawing room, 1768, unexecuted (2)
Notes
The drawings are essentially identical, except in the emphases given by their washes. None was necessary however as T. Carter the younger had already provided a chimneypiece with Doric columns and red Brescia marble in the frieze, with a tablet relief of Hercules.
