Purpose

Design and finished drawing for urn and pedestal in the dining room, 1780, as executed (2)

Notes

The design was executed as a pair as part of the transformation of the library into a dining room, with the urns lined with zinc to cool wine, and the pedestals opening for storage. The colour scheme matches the green and white of the room.

See notes to Adam volumes 20/235 and 20/237 for discussion of Adam's contribution to the conversion.
