Purpose
Preliminary design, design, and record drawing for the ceiling of the great room, 1766, drawing 3 as executed (3)
Notes
The interior of the great room at Fife House was executed to designs by Adam in 1766-67, but the house was demolished in 1869. There is, therefore, some doubt as to which of these designs was the executed version. It is thought that Adam volume 11/197 was the executed design. According to King this is because a copy of the design survives within the archives at Claydon Park, Buckinghamshire.
