Notes

Henry Greswold Lewis was among the party of Grand Tourists that, with Soane, visited Sicily in 1779. In August 1783, Soane was at the late 17th-century Malvern Hall having been asked to make repairs, alterations and additions to the house. The drawing catalogued here was for a door (of which eight were required) with moulded panels defined by three cavetti, and for a single glazed door to the hall with the same mouldings in the lower part.

See Concise Catalogue for other drawings relating to Malvern Hall.
