Design for a chimneypiece for the gallery, 1764, as executed (1)
Notes
The gallery, sometimes used as a ballroom, was located at the front of the house on the first floor. The chimneypiece up to the mantel was executed in accordance with Adam's design, and survived in situ until at least 1919 when it was photographed for Country Life.
