Purpose
[5] Design for a garden pavilion, 1764, unexecuted
Aspect
Plan and elevation of a circular, domed temple, supported by a square stylobate, with steps leading to a central door with a frieze ornamented with arabesques. The temple also contains three windows alternating with four sculpture-filled niches, and each bay is articulated by an engaged fluted Ionic column. The temple is ornamented with urns, relief panels containing half-figures and griffons, patera, and with a frieze of festoons. There is extensive pencil underdrawing
