Purpose
[53] Record drawing for a pavilion, 1770, unexecuted
Aspect
Plan and elevation of a one-storey, three-bay rectangular building, with domed, apsidal ends of three-bays, and a deep portico of four square Spalatro columns supporting a frieze of enclosed anthemia, a pediment, and a pitched roof. The tympanum of the pediment contains a medallion of a bird. Within the portico the walls are articulated by Spalatro pilasters and engaged columns, with a door surmounted by a fan-light in the central bay, and with semicircular-headed urn-filled niches surmounted by a frieze of urns, and medallions in the outer bays
