[9] Preliminary design for the funerary monument of Admiral Boscawen, 1761, unexecuted (3)
Aspect
Rough plan and elevation with a plain pedestal with projecting ends, surmounted by squat fluted columns decorated with armorial hatchments, supporting strigilated urns. Set back in the centre is a sarcophagus with a scrolled pediment and containing an inscription panel. On top is a bust on an ornamental, shaped socle, and set into a circular concave fluted recess within a pyramid, with naval trophies at the base. There is a partial profile on the right-hand side in pencil
