Purpose

[4] Design for a stove, 1776, possibly executed

Aspect

Elevation of a stove with a circular grate with turned bars. The base is ornamented with peltoid shields and rosettes and is flanked by volute scroll legs. This is surmounted by lions flanking an obelisk ornamented with a relief pedestal bearing a cameo surmounted by an urn, half-putti and a tubular flower. All this is surmounted by an oil lamp ornamented with gadrooning, ram masks and a fluted scalloped lid
