[43] Alternative preliminary design for a ceiling for the circular ante-room, c1775, not executed
Aspect
Plan of a circular ceiling ornamented with a central medallion encircled by anthemia, swags and a bad of rosettes and calyx all enclosed within a fan ornamented with a border of Vitruvian scroll. Beyond this there is a band of guilloche and further figurative medallions alternating with pedestals bearing urns linked by festoons of calyx. On one side of the ceiling the pedestals are flanked by griffins. All this is enclosed within a band of fluting
