Notes
This watercolour is part of a volume of eight such views, all of different parts of Chelsea Hospital. It seems likely that C.J. Richardson may have made them, given the similarity of draughtsmanship between these and his other work. As Susan Palmer suggests, these eight drawings are of particular use regarding a visual record of the gardens at Chelsea.
