Designs and record drawings for a new house, c1761-65, unexecuted (5)
Notes
These designs comprise an entirely new house to replace the old house which had been purchased by Archbishop Robert Hay-Drummond's father, the 8th Earl of Kinnoull, in 1713. Adam's designs were not executed, most likely because Hay-Drummond's attention was focused on his renovations at Bishopthorpe Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of York, undertaken by Thomas Atkinson in 1763-69.
