Notes
The embracing figures are repeated in Adam vol.26/78 and are similar to those with wings found on the Temple of the Sun, Rome, or on the Temple of Venus Genetrix in the Villa Albani. The drawing may also be compared with figures in the panels from San Lorenzo fuori le Mura, Rome (see Adam vol.26/39). There is a copy of this drawing attributed to Giuseppe Manocchi (c.1731-82) in Adam vol.19/87.
