The source for this drawing by Giuseppe Manocchi (c.1731-82) may be the end walls with vaults above from the Vatican logge in Rome. A perspective of them introduced Ottaviani's set of prints and elevations were included as plate 16. Like Adam vol.26/31, it may have been the intention to colour this drawing.
The similarities between this drawing and those in the collection of the RIBA mean it could date from 1765 - 7 when Manocchi was in London.
