This drawing and the companion drawing in Adam vol.7/119 are separate from the preceding set of four panels depicting scenes of British history (see Adam vol.7/114-117). The subject here is probably a generalised scene of warfare and has no obviously British source. Like all similar drawings by Antonio Zucchi (1726-95) it was intended as part of the decoration of James Adam's Parliament House scheme of 1762/63.
