This drawing is probably an alternative or earlier version of the larger ink drawing in Adam vol.55/79, but lacks any suggestion of water or indeed foreground. The pattern of niche and screen was probably taken from that of the Pantheon in Rome.The chalk plan on the verso of Adam vol.55/81 may be the source for this scheme.
