Variant designs for alterations to the tribune, one dated February 1796 (3)
Notes
The drawings show a reconsideration of the tribune design, made after construction has begun. The elevations have an alternative entrance front, with a domed attic and gabled projecting end bays. It is doubtful that these elevations are an intended design, however, as constrcution was well under way by the time these drawings were made. A design for the tribune appears to be in development in 1796. In January 1796 Soane sent to his clerk of works, Mr Richards, a plan and section of this part of the building, more drawings in February, and working drawings as late as October (Journal No 3).
