The office Day Book for 24 January 1797 has the entry 'The Duke of Clarence / about Drawings of alterations / to house at Richmond / Jeans / Seward' that is, Thomas Jeans (c.1775-1866), pupil August 1792 - 25 August 1797 and Henry Hake Seward (1778-1848), pupil and assistant May 1794 - September 1808

Notes
Soane's enlargement (drawings [4] and [5]) consisted of the addition of a room, 24 by 40 feet on the end of the building, losing a bay window and turning a drawing room into an 'anti room' with the ghostly outline of the canted bay.
