Purpose
[7] Design for the kitchen office front for a house, possibly executed, c1786
Aspect
Elevation of a three-storey, four-bay building, with a balustraded, pitched roof. On the ground floor there is a tripartite window set behind a Doric colonnade, and this is flanked by lancet windows. On the first floor there is a window articulated by tapering pilasters surmounted by herms, which stylistically forms part of an internal court along with the first-storey colonnade apparent in Adam volume 35/95. Above this, there is a figurative half-roundel is set within a fan. In the upper register there are tripartite, half-height windows, with an ornamental tablet above. All this is surmounted by a plinth supporting a sphinx. To the right of all this there is a section of a two-storey link passage
