Elevation within a cusped arch ornamented with masks, with an inscription panel surmounted by the Townshend coat of arms ornamented with festoons, and flanked by atlantes in Roman dress, supporting a scroll-topped sarcophagus ornamented with a relief panel depicting Townshend's death scene flanked by ornamental panels of military standards, and strigillation, and surmounted by military trophies, and set against a pyramid in relief
