Purpose
Preliminary design and design for sash for a door sash under the Best staircase, March and May 1827 (2)
Notes
The drawings are for a panelled door with a mahogany sash, which leads into a room behind the Best staircase and is entered from the main stairwell. Early designs, plans dated May 1822, show the small room as a water closet but the final unlabelled plan omits a sink, suggesting an alternative use.
