Purpose
Unfinished design, finished drawing, record drawing and working drawing for a segmental slab for the commode for great drawing room (now the portico room), 1779, possibly as executed (4)
Notes
Lea highlights that these drawings for segmental slabs are comparable in shape, size and design to the commode Adam intended for the great drawing room. Lea suggests therefore that they combined to form a single piece of furniture. This seems most likely, and indeed the title inscription for Adam volume 17/46 is underwritten in pencil with Slab (for)? the Commode for Lady Bathurst
