Notes
Having bought Mitcham Grove from John Stewart in 1773, Alexander Wedderburn employed Adam to enlarge and regularise the house in 1774. The scheme shown in these drawings was not executed, but instead more modest alterations were made - though perhaps not by Adam himself - to a design after these drawings. it is possible that drawing 11 - in an unknown hand - is related to this work.
