Finished drawing for a mirror frame, 1771, unexecuted (1)
Notes
This is the only extant drawing for interior decorative work at Mitcham Grove at the Soane Museum. It is possible that John Stewart only commissioned this mirror frame for the house at a time when he was concentrating on the park, but this seems unlikely, and the existence of this drawing suggests that a more fully developed scheme for the interiors of Mitcham Grove had been proposed.
