Purpose
[3] Preliminary design for the house, 1775-77, unexecuted
Aspect
Elevation of the principal front of the house, with a three-storey, three-bay central block, with a pyramidal roof and octagonal lantern, and a bow front, with an Ionic colonnade around the first storey, and the central block is flanked by three-and-a-half-storey, one-bay towers, with Venetian windows on the first storey, and by two-storey, one-bay, pedimented pavilions. The basement of the whole building is rusticated, and contains windows surmounted by Diocletian windows, and within relieving arches, and with pencil annotations
