Purpose
Preliminary design for a gate and lodges, 1777, as executed (1)
Notes
The gate and lodges were executed in accordance with Adam's design, and are now known as the Wyke Green lodge. The lodges have been much altered since Adam's time. The carriage gates and lamps have gone, and the lodges have been extended and given an extra storey.
This design is very similar to the entrance gate and lodges which Adam designed for Mistley Hall (SM Adam volume 51/67).
There is an Adam office copy of this drawing within the National Trust drawings collection at Osterley.
