Purpose
Variant record drawings for a ceiling for the octagonal vestibule, 1779 (2)
Notes
The octagonal vestibule is located under the external staircase at the centre of the garden front of the west range.
The octagonal vestibule ceiling was executed in accordance with Adam's designs, but it is not known which colour scheme was used. The room is currently painted in accordance with the Etruscan scheme (Adam volume 14/54), but this only dates from the 1950s, when it was reconstructed by G. Jackson & Sons.
