Purpose
Preliminary design for an overmantel mirror frame for Mr and Mrs Child's bedchamber, 1779, unexecuted (1)
Notes
Mr and Mrs Child's bedroom is located on the bedroom storey of the house, in the north range between a dressing room for Mr Child to the west (which is adjacent to the great staircase beyond), and a dressing room for Mrs Child to the east.
It has not been possible to photograph this drawing as it is on the verso of another drawing, and is pasted into the folio, largely face down.
Adam's design for an overmantel mirror frame for Mr and Mrs Child's bedroom is not known to have been executed, nor is the commode panel on the recto of this drawing.
