Purpose

Unfinished design and finished drawing for a pier glass frame for the state bedchamber, 1775, drawing 58 as executed (2)

Notes

The pier glass in the state bedchamber was executed in painted and gilt wood in accordance with Adam volume 20/47, and survives in situ.

According to Harris, the pier glass was the first item of furniture designed by Adam for the state bedchamber as the large plane of glass had been specially imported from France.
