[37] Preliminary design for a gate and lodges, 1776, unexecuted

Aspect

Rough elevation of a gateway, with a single rusticated carriage arch, surmounted by an attic ornamented with fret, fluting(?), and a tablet containing a medallion flanked by festoons, and surmounted by a fluted socle; and the arch is flanked by single-storey, single-bay, pedimented lodges, (only a detail of the right-hand lodge is visible), with a central stack and one window, and beyond which is a wooden fence
