Record drawing for the ceiling for the saloon, 1765, as executed (1)

Notes

The saloon was located on the first floor, behind the gallery, and had originally been a rectangular room, but Adam converted it into an oval with curved recesses in the corners, and a deeply coved, coffered ceiling. Harris has compared this ceiling with that in the saloon at Kedleston.
