Built c.1740, the house is seven bays wide and two storeys high (plus basement and attic). The centre three bays project and are crowned by a pediment. The tall windows have alternating segmental and triangular pediments. Soane's added wings are single storey over a basement and have round-arched windows and pedimented pavilion ends.
