[44] Finished drawing for the walls of the first drawing room, 1780-85, unexecuted
Aspect
Elevation of the two side walls, including a screen of two Corinthian columns. The first wall has a chimneypiece ornamented with a half-lion and half-unicorn in the frieze, and surmounted by an overmantel mirror frame ornamented with candle branches, rosettes, urns, anthemia, and surmounted by a lion, a unicorn, and Britannia. There is a window wall to the left, and beyond the screen on the right is a door, with overdoor panels on a nautical theme. The second wall, opposite, shows a corresponding door and nautical overdoor panel, and a further central door opposite the chimneypiece, surmounted by a figurative panel and a pediment
