Notes
The scale of this drawing shows that the overmantel mirror frame would have fitted above the chimneypiece shown in Adam's other drawings. It is, therefore, likely that it was intended for the same room as the other extant drawings for Grove House. Naturally, this overmantel mirror frame is not shown in Adam's laid out wall elevations of 1767, as it was designed three years later.
It has been suggested by King that it is likely that Adam's other designs for this room in Grove House were executed as he was commissioned again in 1770 to provide this design for an overmantel mirror frame.
