Notes
The garden front of three bays has Wyatt windows either side of a glazed door, fronted by four steps, with the same tripartite arrangement below a segmental arch. The door and window openings are 11 feet wide and 10 feet high, and the vertical members employ the distinctive Ionic order of the front portico.
The overall design is for a two-storey, almost square villa, 65 feet 9 inches by 65 feet, with a service wing on one side extending 111 feet 9 inches by 47 feet wide. The house has a simple six-part plan with a dog-leg stair, and a linked hall and vestibule on axis with the front portico and garden entrance.
