Notes
The leafy part of the half-octagonal label-stop, here and in [SM D2/2/19], though dimensioned is sketchily drawn in and evidently Dance is relying on Bernasconi to realise the plastic detailing. Bernasconi's bill for stucco work, 1813-14 including '154 Octagon Do [corbels] 12" high 10" Diamtr / 6" imbossed Ornament 9" high [at] 18/- [each, total £] 138.12,-' (ASH 2809) may refer to these details though, for example, the principal front had 39 windows which, with two stops to each label, adds up to 78 label-stops.
